This 5-week course covers the basic obedience commands and offers a controlled environment for positive interactions with other dogs. In this class, we focus on building confidence, creating positive associations with everyday stimuli, ignoring distractions, and dealing with basic troubleshooting (such as chewing and crate or potty training). This class primarily concentrates on introducing focus cues and basic commands in a way that promotes the response we want the first time every time. We don’t expect your dog to preform at a distance or hold the cue for extended periods of time (that is covered in the Intermediate Class). Exceptions to the age requirement can be made if you own a toy breed and would rather it be in the puppy class with smaller dogs.
Your dog will learn the following commands, be reliable in a calm environment, and hold the commands for a short period of time.
